"I signed up because..."

In this email:

  1. Why people signed up, in their own words
  2. The deadline is one week from today
  3. Links to the course

Hi Reader,

I've gotten so many wonderful emails from people who have signed up for Beyond Autistic Burnout, sharing their stories and why they made the decision to join this program.

I collect these, to reinforce for myself that the effort I'm putting in is having a real, positive impact on people's lives.

As this list has grown longer, as well as in talking with clients and emailing people about the course lately, I've noticed a pattern. Many people expressed feeling alone in their burnout, and a sense of relief that in this particular group, they would not be the odd one out.

It occurred to me that reading the reasons why people joined, in their own words, might be valuable to you for exactly this reason.

I've left out identifying info and the personal parts for privacy reasons (duh).

We start one week from today (Sept 7), so if this is for you, sign up soon.

But if this is definitely not for you, click here and I won't send you any more emails about Beyond Autistic Burnout. Don't worry, you'll keep getting my regular newsletter.

Why people signed up, in their own words

"I have attended a couple of your webinars/zoom calls, and I find it very comfortable to be there, as well as finding your teachings/explanations very relatable. I've been in Autistic burnout before, and in my current one for few years now. I am feeling desperate to work my way out of this one. I'm looking forward to starting the course."

"Having six months for this feels great. Because this, to me, is very important. And I think having the luxury of that time is great."

"I just wanted to say thank you SO MUCH. I've been in burnout for almost exactly two years now, and have recently been feeling panicky about both its duration and my current seemingly inexplicable resistance to — well — everything. I want to thank you for all the content that you've so generously made available on your website. Not only is it relatable and helpful in general, but looking through it and getting a sense of your approach and style can help assuage some of the fears people (read: I) might have had about signing up for the course. I really appreciate the work you've done and am looking forward to starting the burnout course in a few weeks!"

"I just want to say a massive thank you for all of your resources! I'm autistic and have been experiencing autism burnout for the last 4 years. Other sites that I looked at were quite vague and all had the same information, so it was such a relief to find all your blogs and videos. I'm signed up to the Beyond Autistic Burnout course and it looks really helpful."

"Honestly, the course looks really awesome and exactly what I need. I can see you put a lot of work into it, and what you're charging for it is more than fair."

"I started by saying "no", but I looked at the payment plan. The same reasons I would have justified with are the same reasons I actually need to be in it. I honestly cannot afford not to take it. Thank you for making it accessible."

"Accepting support has been a process - I don't regret my previous attitude as seeking support typically only led to misunderstanding, as I didn't know I was autistic so it wasn't the support I needed. However I am happy to be stepping down from that extreme hyper-independence too, as it left no space for some vulnerability at all. Looking forward to start the program."

"Thank you so much! I am looking super forward to it!"

"Very much looking forward to the course! You have already helped me so much with your free workshops and I am so grateful to you for your excellent work."

"This could not have come at a more perfect time! I recently gave notice at my stressful job of 9 years to take a break to reset and try to get out of AuDHD burnout. I will also need to figure out a lower-stress career that will work better for me than the 17-year one I just left. Just signed up for the course and looking forward to all your guidance." :)

"Wowwwwww! Love this. I've been following info from your workshops and working on stuff with my therapist. To have it all in one place and held with community sounds really incredible."

"Neurodivergent psychologists are too full so I'm doing what I can with other resources. I'm pretty sure I'm on the right track because my functioning is gradually increasing but I guess I'm still looking for validation that I am doing the right thing so I don't end up back where I was."

"The examples from your testimonials that I see seem to describe states that I've definitely been in several times in my life."

"I'm actually excited about taking your course heather! like a nerdy kid! :D My disorganized brain is just feeling so good that it's going to have a road map, and that I am allowed to learn something and get help from someone who has already been down this road and knows the way. It's so fucking relieving!! I must know and try to implement your knowledge. It's important to me."

"Really looking forward to this course, not long to go now."

We start September 7.

That still gives you a week to vacillate. ;) Or you can take the plunge and spend the next week looking forward to a new beginning.
